About Dium Lucis / Vibetex:
Dium Lucis Technologies (brand: Vibetex) is building the last charger you’ll need to buy – a 65W dual-port GaN charger focused on high reliability, safety and performance. Our mission is to cut charger e-waste and total cost of ownership by making premium, long-life power products for users and fleets.
Role: Hardware Engineer – 65W GaN USB-C PD Charger
We are hiring a hardware engineer to design, prototype and validate our 65W GaN USB-C PD 3.0 / PPS charger. You will work closely with the founder and our partners to take the product from concept to certification and production.
Key responsibilities:
Design and support the full power stage for a 65W GaN-based charger (100–240 V AC input, dual USB-C outputs).
Implement and validate USB PD 3.0 and PPS power profiles (20 mV step) together with an STM32G071 or similar controller.
Contribute to mechanical and electrical design of the USB-C output stage and connectors, targeting long life and robust real-world usage.
Run simulations, worst-case analysis and derating for GaN FETs, magnetics, capacitors, NTC, etc.
Define and review PCB layout, creepage/clearance, thermal paths and EMI measures to meet BIS / IEC safety and efficiency requirements.
Bring-up and debug prototypes using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, thermal camera and USB-PD analyzers.
Prepare documentation for BIS IS 13252 submissions with our certification consultant.
Coordinate with EMS partners on DFM, test jigs and production test procedures for initial production runs.
Support reliability, life-cycle and field testing, and iterate quickly based on failure analysis and user feedback.
Required qualifications:
BE / BTech in Electrical, Electronics, EEE or related field.
Hands-on experience in power electronics, chargers, adapters or AC-DC SMPS through work, projects or internships.
Solid understanding of SMPS basics (flyback, QR, LLC), magnetics and power component selection.
Ability to read and implement USB-C / USB-PD reference designs from controller vendors (ST, TI, etc.).
Comfortable using lab instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, electronic load) for testing and debugging.
Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn quickly in a fast-paced hardware startup.
Good to have:
Previous work on GaN-based adapters, USB-C PD chargers or high-density AC-DC designs.
Experience with STM32G0 series or similar MCUs for USB-PD control and telemetry.
Exposure to BIS / CE / UL safety certifications for power products.
Experience working with EMS partners or contract manufacturers on consumer hardware.
What we offer:
Opportunity to build a next-generation, high-reliability charger for a large and fast-growing Indian charger/accessory market.
High ownership of the core product; your work will ship to real customers.
Fast-moving, learning-focused environment in Chennai with direct access to the founder and early engineering team.
Competitive salary; early-team upside as the company scales (details during interview).
