The HW Design Lead will be responsible for defining and leading the hardware development and integration for advanced automotive radar sensor platforms.
This role requires a strong electrical background with significant involvement in RF, thermal management, system architecture and ensuring compliance with stringent automotive functional safety and cyber security standards.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the hardware design and architecture definition for the radar sensor platform

Define the Block diagrams for the Hardware concepts specific to customer requirements

Drive the design of critical electrical systems, including:

The radar chipset
-
Network components.
-
Electrical Power concepts (Power supply architecture) for different modes ( normal operation, power reduction mode, power safe mode, …)

Strong involvement in the thermal design of the radar system.

Collaborate closely with the Antenna Design Lead on chipset and antenna design choices.

Ensure compliance with Functional Safety (FuSa) requirements, specifically identifying and avoiding systematic faults that could lead to sensor unavailability, as required for ASIL B(D).

Define the security architecture, including the type of Hardware Security Module (HSM),

Support the overall system integration, Design Validation (DV), Process Validation (PV), and final production of the radar.

Provide expert HW technical support during RFQ/RFI projects incl. costing.
Required Skills And Experience

Proven experience as an HW Design Lead/ Senior HW design engineer or similar role in automotive electronics, preferably for radar sensing technology.

Expertise in electrical design and strong knowledge of thermal design principles.

Familiarity with automotive radar components and reference designs

Deep understanding of functional safety (ASIL) and cyber security standards in the automotive domain.

Experience working with cross-functional teams on platform definition, including System and Mechatronic teams.
