Job Description

We are building FirmGen under CraftifAI Orbit , an AI-assisted development platform that helps embedded teams generate, build, flash, debug, and validate firmware across multiple MCU platforms.

We are looking for engineers who understand firmware deeply and are excited to work at the intersection of embedded systems, AI agents, LLM workflows, and developer tooling .

What You Will Work On

You will help build the AI and firmware intelligence layer inside FirmGen.

This includes firmware-aware LLM workflows, prompt pipelines, agentic validation, SDK indexing, hardware reasoning, build/flash/debug automation, and feedback systems that improve the quality of generated firmware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design firmware-aware LLM workflows for requirement understanding, architecture generation, code generation, validation, debugging, and self-healing.
  • Help build AI agents that can understand MCU SDKs, datasheets, schematics, examples, build logs, compiler errors, flashing failures, and UART/debug logs.
  • Convert embedded firmware knowledge into structured prompts, rules, validators, evaluation datasets, metadata, and reasoning workflows.
  • Build and improve FirmGen’s ability to reason about peripherals, pin mapping, clocks, interrupts, DMA, RTOS tasks, memory maps, linker scripts, boot flow, and hardware constraints.
  • Work on SDK/document ingestion pipelines for STM32, ESP32, CMSIS, vendor HALs, examples, reference manuals, datasheets, and board files.
  • Create validation and evaluation flows to check whether AI-generated firmware is buildable, flashable, runnable, and logically correct.
  • Analyze generation failures and improve the LLM pipeline using feedback from build logs, test results, hardware behavior, and user prompts.
  • Collaborate with AI/product engineers to improve prompt design, context retrieval, agent orchestration, code quality, and deterministic validation.
  • Help build MCU platform adapters for SDK discovery, project generation, build, flash, serial monitor, and diagnostics.
Required Skills
  • Strong embedded C firmware development experience.
  • Good understanding of MCU architecture, peripherals, registers, interrupts, memory maps, startup code, linker scripts, boot flow, and debugging.
  • Experience with at least one major MCU ecosystem such as STM32, Nordic, NXP, Renesas, TI, or Microchip.
  • Ability to read and interpret datasheets, reference manuals, schematics, SDK documentation, board manuals, and application notes.
  • Strong debugging ability using build logs, compiler errors, linker maps, UART logs, serial monitors, SWD/JTAG, oscilloscopes, or logic analyzers.
  • Interest or hands-on experience with LLMs, AI agents, prompt engineering, RAG, code generation, evaluation, or AI-assisted developer tools.
  • Ability to think in terms of systems, workflows, automation, validation, and product-level intelligence.
Good to Have
  • Experience with Python for automation, parsing, validation, testing, or internal tooling.
  • Experience with LLM-based tools, AI coding assistants, RAG pipelines, prompt evaluation, or agentic workflows.
  • Experience with FreeRTOS, embOS, Zephyr, ThreadX, or other RTOS platforms.
  • Experience with BLE, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, MQTT, HTTP, Modbus, CAN, OTA, bootloaders, TrustZone, secure boot, or TLS.
  • Understanding of CMSIS-SVD, CMSIS-Pack, STM32CubeMX, device trees, Kconfig, or hardware description formats.
  • Experience building SDKs, developer tools, code generators, validation systems, or internal firmware platforms.
Experience

1–6 years of experience in embedded firmware, embedded tooling, AI-assisted development, or related engineering roles.

Strong embedded engineers with an automation mindset and curiosity for AI/LLM systems are preferred.

Why Join CraftifAI ?

You will help build FirmGen , an AI-native platform for embedded firmware development.

This role is not about manually writing firmware for one product. It is about helping build the AI system that can understand firmware requirements, reason about hardware, generate code, validate outputs, debug failures, and improve over time.

You will work at the intersection of firmware engineering, LLMs, AI agents, hardware validation, and developer tools .
