What Will You Do As FPGA Engineer
As an FPGA Engineer, you design and implement VHDL-based firmware solutions for complex electronic and mechatronic systems. You work on high-performance machines and modules where reliability, timing accuracy and efficient hardware/software interaction are critical.
You are responsible for the full FPGA development cycle: from defining requirements and designing firmware architectures to implementation, simulation and validation in both lab setups and real machine environments. You act as the technical point of contact for FPGA-related topics and collaborate closely with electronics architects and engineers from software, electronics and mechatronics disciplines.
Your responsibilities include:

Designing, developing and modifying VHDL firmware for FPGA-based systems

Defining and documenting functional and technical requirements

Implementing, simulating and verifying VHDL designs, from RTL to timing closure
-
Testing and validating firmware in lab environments and machine modules
-
Developing and maintaining hardware/software interfaces
-
Debugging FPGA designs using advanced tools and measurement equipment
-
Acting as the primary contact for FPGA-related questions within projects

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated system solutions
Do You Recognize Yourself In This
Do you recognize yourself in this?

You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering
-
You have at least 5 years of experience in FPGA design using VHDL
-
You have experience with RTL, synthesis, compilation and timing closure
-
You have worked with FPGA design tools such as Altera Quartus and/or Xilinx ISE
-
You have experience with simulation tools such as ModelSim and/or QuestaSim
-
You have hands-on experience with FPGA debugging tools such as ILA, ChipScope or SignalTap
-
You are comfortable using lab equipment for testing and validation
-
You enjoy working with hardware and software engineers at a technical level
-
You are analytical, pragmatic, proactive and solution-oriented
-
You communicate clearly and are fluent in English
-
Dutch language skills are a plus
-
Affinity with mechatronics and control systems is a plus
