Job Description

FPGA Design Engineer | £40,000 - £60,000

We're working with a world-class innovator in professional audio technology on this exciting opportunity.

Shape the sound of global live events by designing ultra-low-latency FPGA-based audio engines and high-accuracy signal processing platforms. This is a rare chance to blend complex VHDL development with real-time DSP to build hardware used by the world’s biggest artists and engineers.

The Role

  • Architect and build FPGA-based audio engines with a focus on ultra-low latency, high accuracy, and complex audio routing solutions.
  • Develop and implement high-performance Digital Signal Processing (DSP) features using VHDL for real-time audio applications.
  • Interface with high-speed digital designs, managing memory, clocking, and data movement across serial protocols like I2S, I2C, SPI, and UART.
  • Take ownership of the full lifecycle from hardware bring-up and schematic review to writing testable HDL and performing rigorous simulation.
  • Collaborate with electronics and systems engineers to shape the future architecture of market-leading audio mixing and processing systems.

What You'll Need

  • Proven commercial experience in FPGA Design or low-level Firmware development, with mastery of VHDL.
  • Strong technical grounding in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) fundamentals and high-speed digital circuit design.
  • Hands-on experience with Xilinx FPGA platforms, toolchains (Vivado/SDK), and hardware-software interfacing.
  • Familiarity with audio-centric technologies such as Audio-over-IP (Dante, AES67) or DSP programming (SHARC/ADSP).
  • Exposure to C/C++ development, Embedded Linux, or bootloaders is highly advantageous for system-level integration.

What's On Offer

  • Technical Autonomy: Play a hands-on role across architecture, development, and verification on performance-critical products.
  • Innovation-First Culture: Join a collaborative, engineering-driven environment that prioritizes technical excellence over corporate red tape.
  • Growth & Impact: Benefit from ongoing professional development while working on international projects with global visibility.
  • Flexible Working: Remote-friendly environment based in a beautiful Surrey location with a competitive salary package.
