The listing

We are looking for an Embedded Systems & R&D Engineer (Unmanned systems), in this role, you will work on advanced systems such as drones and specialized technical equipment, from concept and prototype through to tested and integrated solutions.

Your focus will be on embedded software development and system integration, working closely with hardware and R&D engineers.

Hands-on testing and debugging are part of the role, with a strong emphasis on development, innovation and system reliability rather than service or maintenance work.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain embedded software (C/C++, optionally Python)
• Work with microcontrollers and embedded hardware at system level
• Integrate, test and debug hardware and software systems
• Contribute to R&D projects, prototypes and technical improvements
• Support technical analysis and problem solving
• Document designs, tests and technical solutions

Your Profile:

• BSc or MSc in Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar
• Experience with embedded software development in C/C++
• Basic knowledge of electronics and hardware–software interaction
• Analytical, precise and solution-oriented mindset
• Interest in high-tech, defence or drone-related systems
• Good command of the English language (Dutch is a plus)

• Knowledge of embedded communication protocols (e.g. SPI, I²C, CAN, UART)
• Experience with testing in lab or R&D environments

• Salary range: €6.000 – €7.500 gross
