Embedded System Engineer

About the job:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate teammate for the post of Embedded System Engineer to join the Product & Engineering Department at our office in Dubai, U.A.E.

Responsibilities:

1. Firmware Development: Extensive experience in firmware development, including cross-compilation, toolchains, and build systems.
2. Programming Languages: Proficient in C and C++ with a strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and memory management.
3. Linux Systems: In-depth knowledge of Linux-based systems, command-line usage, and shell scripting.
4. Troubleshooting and Debugging: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve firmware-related issues.
5. Collaboration and Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years relevant experience
• A good appreciation of the hardware and low-level software interface
• Proficient in Embedded C programming for ARM processors or equivalent.
• Practical experience programming a variety of hardware devices at register level.
• Understanding of Linux subsystem, device driver, Device tree
• Ability to work with buildroot or equivalent build system
• Excellent problem solving and debugging skills
• Preferable working experience in IoT devices

Education:

A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field is often preferred. However, practical experience and demonstrated skills can be equally valuable.

• IoT Devices: 5 years (Preferred)
• Linux System: 5 years (Preferred)
• Programming: 5 years (Preferred)
• Buildroot System: 5 years (Preferred)
