Embedded Software Engineer - Industrial Systems (Contract, Onsite Netherlands)

Rate: Up to €100 per hour, depending on experience

An established manufacturer of high-precision dosing equipment for the industrial sector, with systems used in industrial facilities worldwide. Software sits at the core of how these physical systems perform, controlling machines, materials, and processes in demanding real-world environments. This is a hands-on role for engineers who want to work close to hardware, not just abstract layers.
Project / Role Overview
You'll join a small, multidisciplinary R&D team where software, systems, mechanical engineering, and product support work closely together. The team is strengthening and evolving a proven, in-production system while laying the groundwork for a future modular, distributed architecture. Engineering decisions here have a direct and visible impact on products already operating in the field.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain embedded software that interacts directly with hardware, sensors, and motion control
Support and improve systems that must perform reliably under real industrial conditions
Contribute to an existing monolithic platform while helping shape its evolution toward modular, microcontroller-driven architecture
Work with Linux-based embedded systems and the Qt framework for GUI and control logic
Apply AI tooling to support development, testing, and system insight where useful
