Summary
The Senior Software Engineer for Manufacturing Test Development participates in the architecture, design, development, test, and integration of software required to produce and test In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) hardware products for commercial passenger aircraft.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and validate C++ test software used for hardware validation, factory acceptance testing, and performance verification of LRUs within the RAVE In-Flight Entertainment system
- Design, debug, and deploy automated test applications, stations, fixtures, scripts, and equipment integrations that support reliable product testing, data collection, and process control
- Support New Product Introduction builds, production testing, sustaining issues, and manufacturing improvements by troubleshooting hardware/software failures and identifying root causes
- Partner with hardware, embedded software, design engineering, manufacturing engineering, and contract manufacturing teams to ensure products can be thoroughly and efficiently tested
- Review, implement, and validate product-line and system requirements, and produce required software, test procedure, and release documentation
- Participate in design discussions, design reviews, code reviews, and peer reviews to improve software quality, test coverage, and manufacturing readiness
- Provide development estimates, communicate status, and support cross-functional planning for assigned work
- Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD pipeline improvements that strengthen test software development, validation, and release practices
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
- 6+ of experience working in a similar role
- Proficiency in Linux embedded operating system development
- Strong proficiency in C++, C, Python, and bash/sh in a Linux environment.
- Experience with Subversion (SVN), Git, and Bitbucket
- Low-level software expertise, particularly with 32- and 64-bit ARM SoCs
- Understanding of basic electronics, embedded circuit design, PCB schematics, and the ability to control test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies) via GPIB/USB/Ethernet.
- Experience with common embedded bus functionality and communication protocols such as: I2C, PCIe, SPI, MDIO, CAN, or Ethernet.
- Strong background in debugging hardware-software problems and root-cause analysis (RCA)
- Experience with formal Engineering requirements, documentation and processes
- Previous experience developing manufacturing tests, including Acceptance Tests and associated procedures
The starting pay range for this position is $130,000 - 146,500 per year however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
