About the Role:

As part of our firmware team, you’ll co-create leading-edge fire safety products, improving smoke, heat, or CO detectors for the residential market. Work on low-power wireless signaling protocols, detection algorithms, and participate in all stages of product creation: systems analysis, architecture decisions, coding, documentation, labs, production, and client support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop firmware code and architecture
• Prototype and proof concepts
• Collaborate with hardware, analytics, and test engineers
• Conduct code reviews and audits

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years embedded C experience
• Unit testing experience
• Cortex-M0+ systems (STM, TI, Holtek, etc.)
• Bare-metal & lightweight RTOS (FreeRTOS, Segger embOS)
• Debuggers, programmers, schematics reading
• Low-power optimization, battery life awareness
• Git and English proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

• Radio communications (sub 1MHz, BLE, Zigbee)
• Cryptography basics, ARM secure key storage
• OTA updates
• DevOps knowledge
