Embedded Senior Software Engineer, Project Leo Customer Terminals

$151,300 - $261,500

Redmond, WA (Hybrid/Remote)

Project Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network. You’ll join the team building the embedded software that powers the customer terminals connecting homes and businesses to high-speed satellite internet.

What you’ll do

• Develop and test embedded software running on embedded Linux
• Design and implement core software functions for Customer Terminal devices
• Build embedded software using Rust, C++, and C
• Contribute across the full SDLC (requirements, design, coding, testing, deployment)
• Design and analyse state machines for embedded systems
• Develop software within secure compute environments
• Support deployments, operations, and debugging on production systems
• Write technical documentation, specs, and design notes

What you’ll need

• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong embedded development experience (C, C++, Rust)
• Experience working with embedded Linux systems
• Solid understanding of state machine design and embedded debugging
• Experience contributing across the full software development lifecycle
• Ability to work fully on-site in Redmond, WA
• Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident, refugee, or asylee (export control requirement)

Nice to have

• Experience collaborating with hardware engineering teams
• Experience working in secure compute environments
• Background in networking, RF, or satellite systems

Salary

$151,300 - $261,500 base, depending on experience.
