We are hiring an ADAS Embedded Software Engineer to support the automotive industry in Japan on the design and development of advanced driver assistance software solutions. This role focuses on ADAS/AD features such as driving, parking, in-cabin sensing, and perception-related functions, while also potentially contributing to other automotive software areas such as IVI and connected vehicle development. You will work closely with clients and cross-functional teams in a bilingual Japanese-English environment and play a key role in strengthening automotive software capability in Japan.

Responsibilities:
• Design and develop embedded software for ADAS/AD functions for automotive client projects
• Contribute to functions such as driving assistance, parking, in-cabin sensing, and perception algorithms based on radar, video, and ultrasonic sensors
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, software architecture design, development, configuration, and integration
• Collaborate with clients and internal development teams to align technical solutions with project needs
• Drive appropriate technical and architectural decisions and support implementation
• Support software integration, troubleshooting, and problem resolution
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development in the automotive industry
• Strong expertise in ADAS software development and ADAS-specific processes
• Strong knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic, AUTOSAR Adaptive, ASIL, ISO 26262, and ASPICE
• Proven experience with vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
• Experience managing and executing the full software development lifecycle
• Good understanding of Agile principles, methodologies, and delivery
• Strong programming skills in C and C++
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and standard CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
• Basic MS Office skills, including Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Strong communication skills in both Japanese and English, with at least business-level proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking
• Ability to work autonomously, make sound technical decisions, and solve problems in a structured way
Nice to have:
• Experience in IVI and/or connected embedded software development
• Certified Scrum Master
• Experience working with Japanese OEMs and/or Tier 1 suppliers
