Do you want to play a key role in building secure embedded platforms that make a difference in healthcare?
Join the RTX healthcare as we are expanding the team with a software developer specializing in Linux-based embedded systems and cybersecurity. You'll play a key role in secure platforms for healthcare, ensuring reliability, data integrity, and patient safety across various device types—from gateways and infrastructure to patient monitoring equipment. Security is a core requirement for every device category, from secure communication and data protection to tamper resistance. As part of the team, you'll collaborate on design, development, deployment, and maintenance to deliver dependable, compliant solutions and manage vulnerabilities throughout the product lifecycle.
When working in our healthcare team, you will be involved in daily operations and take responsibility for the full software lifecycle.
Work challenges will include:
· Designing and implementing security architecture for embedded Linux platforms
· Developing and maintaining Yocto-based Linux distributions with a focus on security-by-design
· Implementing secure boot, root of trust, image signing, and secure update mechanisms
· System hardening (kernel, userspace, and services) to reduce the attack surface
· Integrating security features such as access control, SELinux/AppArmor, secure storage, and cryptography
· Developing automated tests and validation of security features (e.g. vulnerability scanning and compliance checks)
· Releasing and maintaining secure software platforms for internal development teams
· Ongoing vulnerability management, patching, and post-integration incident support
Qualifications :
You embrace teamwork and you can work independently as well. We expect that you are flexible and show high responsibility for your own tasks. You must be methodical in the approach to problem-solving and you must focus on the quality of delivered results.
We expect you have:
· Solid experience with embedded Linux and low-level system software development
· Strong knowledge of the Yocto Project and building custom, secure Linux distributions
· Experience with C/C++ in embedded or system-level environments
· Experience with Python for automation, build tooling, and testing
· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins) and secure integration into build processes
· Hands-on experience with embedded security concepts such as secure boot, TPM/HSM, key management, and OTA updates
· Understanding of vulnerability management (CVEs), patching, and long-term product maintenance
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with high accountability
· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
· BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
