Embedded Machine Control Software Engineer

WE ARE LOOKING FOR EMBEDDED MACHINE CONTROL SOFTWARE ENGINEER

We are looking for an Embedded Machine Control Software Engineer to join Unikie in a long-term customer project in the Kuopio region. In this role, you will develop and maintain software used in heavy-duty machines and machine automation systems. Your work will include machine control features, CAN-based communication, and software integration with sensors, actuators, motors, and hydraulic systems.

You will work close to real machines and physical systems, together with other software and engineering specialists.

Required Qualifications

• Experience developing software or control functionality for machines, vehicles, robotics, industrial equipment, or other physical systems.
• Experience with embedded or real-time systems.
• Experience with CAN bus or similar fieldbus / machine communication technologies.
• Understanding of how software interacts with hardware, sensors, actuators, motors, or hydraulic systems.
• Hands-on engineering experience close to real machines, equipment, or industrial hardware environments.
• Programming experience with C, C++, Rust, PLC technologies, or other embedded-oriented environments.
• Fluent Finnish and English language skills.
• Ability to work onsite in the Kuopio region.
  
  

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience with mobile machinery, heavy equipment, automotive embedded systems, or industrial automation.
• Experience with Codesys, IEC 61131-3, embedded Linux, or similar technologies.
• Experience with software testing, automation tooling, or CI/CD practices in embedded environments.
• Familiarity with simulation or modeling tools such as Matlab/Simulink or similar.
