About the Role

We are looking for a passionate Embedded Linux Engineer to join our engineering team and work on cutting-edge IoT devices, edge computing systems, controllers, and connected hardware solutions. The ideal candidate will contribute to firmware development, Linux kernel customization, hardware integration, and communication protocol implementation for scalable embedded and industrial automation products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, customize, and maintain Embedded Linux firmware.
  • Perform Linux kernel configuration, customization, and debugging.
  • Configure and modify Device Trees for hardware interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet, ADC, USB, CAN, and RS485.
  • Support board bring-up activities for new hardware platforms.
  • Develop and integrate firmware components for communication and control applications.
  • Configure and troubleshoot Ethernet, Wi-Fi, cellular, and networking modules.
  • Implement communication protocols including MQTT, TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, CoAP, Modbus TCP/RTU, and SNMP.
  • Develop Linux application-level services and system daemons.
  • Integrate embedded systems with cloud platforms, gateways, and SCADA solutions.
  • Debug kernel, driver, networking, and application-level issues.
  • Work with U-Boot bootloader for firmware updates and system recovery.
  • Implement OTA firmware updates, secure boot, and rollback mechanisms.
  • Optimize firmware performance, memory utilization, and boot time.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, QA, and software engineering teams.
  • Prepare technical documentation, release notes, and configuration guides.
Required Skills
  • Strong experience in Embedded Linux firmware development.
  • Good understanding of Linux kernel, bootloader, root filesystem, and device drivers.
  • Hands-on experience with Device Tree configuration and customization.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Shell Scripting.
  • Experience with Git, Makefiles, cross-compilation, and CI/CD workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux build systems such as Yocto, Buildroot, or OpenWrt.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including routing, sockets, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, and firewall configuration.
  • Experience with communication interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, Ethernet, USB, CAN, RS232, and RS485.
  • Strong debugging skills for kernel, drivers, networking, and embedded applications.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with OTA firmware updates and secure boot.
  • Knowledge of TLS, OpenSSL, VPN, IPSec, and certificate management.
  • Experience integrating MQTT or REST APIs with cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, or OPC UA.
  • Experience working with low-power embedded systems and watchdog recovery mechanisms.
  • Knowledge of lightweight containerization or embedded Linux service management.
