Embedded Hardware Engineer
Pay Range: $58/hour to $63/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a mid-level Embedded Hardware Engineer with strong Altium Designer experience to support multiple embedded hardware development projects. This role will focus on schematic capture, PCB layout, design reviews, and hardware development for wireless and mixed-signal electronic systems. The ideal candidate has experience with RF, battery-powered devices, motor control, and cross-functional product development.
Key Responsibilities

Develop schematics and PCB layouts using Altium Designer for embedded electronic products.

Support multiple active hardware development projects, including:

Multi-channel wireless control module featuring BLE connectivity and motor driver circuitry.

LED evaluation board development for optical/light distribution testing.

Wireless gateway hardware supporting Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), including design reviews and potential PCB layout support.

Design, review, and troubleshoot mixed-signal, analog, digital, and RF circuits.

Support low-power, battery-operated electronic designs.

Participate in RF design activities, including antenna integration, matching, and certification support.

Design battery management and charging circuitry.

Develop DC motor control circuitry and support motion sensing technologies.

Create and maintain PCB libraries, components, and manufacturing documentation within Altium.

Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and supplier teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

Support prototype builds, hardware validation, debugging, and production readiness.

Perform design reviews and provide technical guidance to engineering team members.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.

5–8+ years of hands-on electrical hardware design experience.

Strong proficiency with Altium Designer, including schematic capture and PCB layout.

Experience designing mixed-signal and embedded electronic systems.

Experience with wireless technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and/or Wi-Fi.

Knowledge of battery-powered electronic product design.

Experience with DC motor control circuits.

Familiarity with common embedded communication protocols, including I2C, SPI, SMBus, CAN, and PWM.

Experience debugging hardware using standard laboratory equipment.

Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting RF design, antenna integration, and wireless certification processes.

Familiarity with battery management systems and rechargeable battery technologies.

Experience with embedded firmware collaboration, including basic understanding of C/C++.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, design for manufacturability (DFM), and component lifecycle management.

Experience with Altium 365, multi-board designs, flex PCBs, or harness design.

Experience supporting products from concept through validation, production, and sustaining engineering.
