Helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find an Electronics Engineer to support the development, assembly, testing, and production scaling of vehicle electronics, PCB assemblies, and electrical systems.
-
In this role, you’ll work closely with electrical engineers to build, bring up, modify, and validate vehicle components and electronic assemblies. You’ll support rapid prototyping efforts, cable harness fabrication, PCB assembly and rework, and help maintain a highly organized lab environment that enables efficient testing and development activities.
-
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, adaptable, and thrives in fast-paced engineering environments.
As an Electronics Engineer, you'll:
-
Collaborate with electrical engineering teams to support the development and testing of vehicle electronics and embedded hardware systems.
-
Assemble, modify, and rework multilayer printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).
-
Build, repair, and modify automotive-grade wire harnesses using industry-standard connectors such as TE, Molex, and Deutsch.
-
Assemble and wire electrical control panels, industrial rack systems, and engineering test benches.
-
Conduct functional testing and verification of electronic assemblies and prototype hardware.
-
Perform detailed inspections of PCBAs and cable assemblies to identify and resolve assembly defects.
-
Maintain and improve electronics lab capabilities, including tooling, equipment maintenance, inventory management, and workspace organization.
-
Manage electrical components, connectors, consumables, and prototype hardware inventory to support uninterrupted engineering activities.
-
Coordinate the intake of prototype hardware and shipment of test fixtures to vehicle teams and external sites.
-
Establish and maintain equipment tracking processes to ensure accountability for shared tools and high-value assets.
-
Support procurement activities for engineering components, tools, and test equipment.
-
Travel domestically as needed to support fleet operations and engineering activities.
Qualifications:
-
Hands-on experience with electronic product assembly, with 2+ years of work experience.
-
Hands-on experience in prototype work and functional verification (testing) specifically with electronics.
-
Some level of mechanical knowledge is desirable.
-
Hands-on and fluent with basic lab equipment: DMM, power supplies, electronic loads.
-
Ability to read electrical schematics and BOMs.
-
Must have superb soldering & rework skills.
-
Experienced and comfortable working under a microscope.
-
Hands-on experience with mechanical hand-tools common in electronic assemblies.
