About the Role
This role will directly manage the MCU software engineering team in amplifier SW organization. This role is managing global MCU software team in China for China and Korea customers. The MCU software engineering design team consists of approximately 100+ software project leaders, software architects and SW engineers in the vehicle interface microcontroller domain for Amplifier.
What You Will Do
- Direct and lead a global team of MCU Software project leaders, Software architects, Software engineers in the development of automotive audio amplifier products.
- Plans and directs personnel resource allocation to the customer products.
- Manages resource levels and determines if external or cross team resources are required to complete planned workload. Manages selection and usage of external or internal resources from the other MUC SW team to meet project deliverables on-time with zero defects.
- Maintains engineering staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees. Supervises engineering personnel through coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising of job performance.
- Establishes and owns the processes/tool chain strategy towards ASPICE Level 3 for the development, integration, and release of software with engineering excellence team.
- Establishes key KPI to enable project monitoring for the software development functions.
- Provides software leadership to audio programs and coordinates with DSP software team to ensure deliverables are met on time, within budget and meeting customer requirements and expectations.
- Maintains engineering standards by establishing and maintaining policies on software design standards. Identifies and implements methods and practices that improve effectiveness of teamwork, and maturity of software development.
- Ensures appropriate design tools and computer hardware are available, maintained, and capable of operation at the highest efficiency.
- Works on annual department budget, head count, capital tool planning, and other administrative duties.
- Provides software escalation point for software-related process, tool, resource, and product issues with support of SW SME team. This role is the champion for software to the rest of the product development organization.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic Engineering or related field
- 15+ years of experience in research and development, including 10+ years of experience in embedded SW development for automotive embedded systems.
- 10+ years progressive management and leadership experience, high level of leadership skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively, inspire and motivate teams, conduct performance reviews and attract top talent.
- Knowledge of software development principles and practices, ability to develop and present technical data, resolve internal and external conflicts, negotiate and resolve customer issues. strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable strategic decisions.
- Leadership of projects to meet strict deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
- Self-starter and self-motivated.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and can interface with peers and stakeholders。
- Technical expert in hardware and software development.
- Fully compliant with organizational processes, standards, and policies.
- Experience with SW technologies for automotive applications, such as smart amplifier, audio processing Automotive SPICE, Functional Safety ISO26262, RTOS, middleware, etc.
- Familiar with HW embedded systems around SoC, MCU, and DSP, using electronic communication busses such as A2B, CAN, LIN, AVB, I2C, SPI, etc.
- Experience in audio products in automotive applications.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Experience with the automotive OEM vehicle development process for OEMs such as HMMC, Toyota , Ford, GM, or China OEMs.
