Job Description

Imagine being part of a team that’s redefining the future of mobility—where your ideas don’t just sit in a lab but power next-generation technology. At indie, we are developing cutting-edge semiconductors, photonics, and radar sensors and systems for automotive, industrial, and adjacent markets. Our innovations are at the heart of advanced intelligent sensing and user experience applications, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.

If you're passionate about groundbreaking technology and want to make a real impact alongside a fast-paced team that thrives on creativity and collaboration, we’d love to have you on board!

As a Digital Design Engineer, you will be part of a small, highly talented team responsible for the design, implementation, and verification of SoCs that power advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead register bank generation flows based on AMBA interfaces to support integration of custom-designed IP.
  • Collaborate with System Architecture teams to define IP- and chip-level digital implementations.
  • Develop and document RTL to implement digital IP in line with agreed specifications.
  • Create and maintain SoC integration plans for digital IP blocks.
  • Define block-level test plans and develop testbenches for initial functionality checks (to be used by the verification team).
  • Support RTL and gate-level functional verification: debug failures, manage bug tracking, and analyze and close coverage.
  • Work closely with firmware engineers to integrate digital IP at the system level.
  • Support validation, test, and application engineering teams with silicon bring-up and IP debugging.
  • Lead design reviews, ensuring compliance with indie’s quality and design flow processes.
  • Contribute to activities related to Functional Safety.

Required Qualifications

  • Please note, we are open to considering all levels of experience for this role.**
  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in custom IC design, with strong expertise in digital design.
  • Deep understanding of ASIC front-end design flows including simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis (STA), lint, and equivalence checking.
  • Strong proficiency in Verilog for digital block design.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for design automation.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, release management, continuous integration, and unit testing.
  • Ability to debug complex design issues and develop creative solutions.
  • Basic knowledge of lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers), or demonstrated ability to learn hardware tools quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English, with the ability to collaborate across international teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating Hardware Security Modules (HSM) or working with Root of Trust architectures.
  • Understanding of DSP concepts such as filtering, modulation, and FFT.
