About the Program

The Global Semiconductor Exchange Program (GSEP) – Custom IC Design Engineer Apprenticeship Program prepares participants for careers involving custom analog circuit design, IC layout implementation, and semiconductor product development.

Hosted in Shenzhen, China, the program combines international exposure with practical engineering training to bridge academic knowledge and industry applications.


Program Structure

During the 1-month International Training in Shenzhen, China, you'll gain practical exposure to: -

• Structured Analog IC Design and Layout training

• Simulation-driven engineering exercises

• Semiconductor laboratory exposure

• Campus accommodation and international learning

• Technology ecosystem visits and collaborative activities


In the following 3 months, you'll gain hands-on industry experience through an On-the-Job Training (OJT) placement.


Responsibilities

Participants will gain exposure to topics including:

  • Analog device operation and modelling
  • Circuit analysis and amplifier design
  • Custom IC layout methodologies
  • Layout matching and optimisation techniques
  • LDO chip front-end design and implementation
  • Post-simulation analysis and physical verification
  • Semiconductor engineering workflows and design reviews


Who We're Looking For

• Fresh graduates or final-year students in:

- Electrical & Electronics Engineering

- Mechatronics Engineering

- Computer Engineering

- Biomedical Engineering

- Physics

- Electronic Science and Technology

- Communication Engineering

- Microelectronics Science and Engineering

- Electronic Information Science and Technology

- or other related disciplines

• Strong interest in semiconductor technology and Analog IC Design

• Basic understanding of circuit analysis and semiconductor fundamentals is advantageous

• Eagerness to learn through practical, hands-on engineering activities

• Willingness to participate in the overseas training and subsequent OJT program
