Job Description

Android Embedded Engineer

  • Remote from Poland (EST Time Zone)
  • Long-Term Contract (Initial 6 Months + Extensions)
  • $40 USD/hour


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize software for embedded systems and Android-based devices.
  • Develop Android applications and system services that interact with hardware sensors and peripherals.
  • Build and maintain frameworks for real-time data acquisition, processing, and transmission.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and data science teams to integrate intelligent features into products.
  • Implement and optimize machine learning models for edge and mobile environments.
  • Integrate and troubleshoot connectivity with sensors, cameras, microphones, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other hardware components.
  • Develop tools and pipelines for collecting, validating, and managing device-generated data.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software integration challenges and perform system-level debugging.
  • Improve system performance, power efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software development or Android development.
  • Hands-on experience developing applications and system services on the Android platform.
  • Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and hardware-software interaction.
  • Experience working with sensors, device drivers, communication protocols, and peripheral interfaces.
  • Knowledge of machine learning concepts and experience with model deployment in edge/mobile environments.
  • Experience with Linux-based systems and debugging tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work aligned with US Eastern Time Zone (EST) hours.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with connected devices, IoT platforms, or smart hardware products.
  • Experience with Android system internals, frameworks, or low-level development.
  • Familiarity with real-time systems and performance optimization.
