ASIC Chief Architect
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced ASIC Chief Architect to define and drive the architecture of next-generation SoCs and ASIC platforms for high-performance compute, 6G communications, AI, networking, and embedded systems.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record in DSP, CPU, GPU, and system architecture, with deep expertise across memory subsystems, packet processing, interconnects, hardware/software co-design, and large-scale silicon development.
As the technical leader, you will own system-level architecture, technology direction, and architectural tradeoffs, working closely with executive leadership, product management, silicon engineering, software, and verification teams.
A strong supervisor able to train and motivate a team to peak performance. Known as a “go to” person to get things done, excellent interpersonal skills, data driven oriented and highly motivated.
Key Responsibilities
Define the end-to-end architecture of complex ASIC/SoC products from concept to production.
Lead system architecture across compute, memory, networking, security, and acceleration subsystems.
Drive architectural decisions involving:
DSP architectures and signal-processing pipelines
CPU and GPU architectures
AI/ML acceleration
Packet processing and networking engines
Memory hierarchy and DDR subsystems
NoC (Network-on-Chip) and interconnect architecture
Develop performance, power, area (PPA), and cost optimization strategies.
Analyze workloads and define hardware acceleration opportunities.
Lead architectural modeling, performance simulation, and capacity planning.
Drive hardware/software co-design and system partitioning decisions.
Work closely with ASIC design, verification, physical design, firmware, and software teams.
Define technology roadmaps and influence long-term architectural strategy.
Review and mentor architecture teams and serve as the company's top technical authority in system architecture.
Required Qualifications
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
12+ years of experience in semiconductor, ASIC, SoC, or processor architecture.
Proven experience leading the architecture and development of complex silicon products from concept through production.
Deep expertise in:
DSP architectures and signal-processing systems
CPU architectures (ARM, RISC-V, x86 or similar)
GPU and parallel processing architectures
Hardware accelerators and heterogeneous computing
High-performance SoC design
Strong understanding of:
DDR4/DDR5, LPDDR, HBM, memory controllers, cache architectures
Packet processing and networking systems
Network processors, switching, routing, and traffic management
PCIe, Ethernet, CXL, UCIe and other high-speed interfaces
NoC and chiplet architectures
Power management and performance optimization
Experience with:
System modeling and architectural simulations
Performance analysis and workload characterization
HW/SW co-optimization
ASIC design flows and silicon bring-up
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with wireless communications, modem, networking, AI, or datacenter silicon.
Track record of delivering high-volume commercial ASICs.
Experience managing and mentoring senior architects and technical leaders.
Strong patent portfolio and/or industry-recognized technical contributions.
Ability to communicate architectural vision to execut
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.*References to a particular number of years experience are for indicative purposes only.
