Open Role: Warehouse Robotics Engineer (Rio de Janeiro)
Rex.zone is hiring a remote Warehouse Robotics Engineer to design, deploy, and support autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), robotic picking, and warehouse automation systems across fulfillment operations. You will collaborate with distributed engineering and operations stakeholders using online tools, telemetry dashboards, and scheduled syncs.
About The Role
Your focus includes robot fleet operations, performance tuning, incident response, and deployment readiness for AMRs and robotic workcells. You will use logs, telemetry, and feedback loops to improve navigation robustness, pick success rate, and system uptime while maintaining safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end reliability for warehouse robotics systems, including monitoring, alerting, and root-cause analysis.

Integrate robots with warehouse systems (WMS/WES), conveyors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment.

Tune navigation, localization (SLAM), and traffic management to improve throughput and reduce collisions and deadlocks.

Build and maintain robot fleet dashboards, KPIs, and incident playbooks (MTTR, uptime, mission success rate).

Validate safety behaviors and operational constraints (geofencing, speed limits, e-stops, safe stop distance).

Run controlled experiments (A/B tests, parameter sweeps) to improve model and system performance.

Partner with site operations teams to translate workflow constraints into robotics requirements and SOPs.

Document deployment standards, acceptance tests, and change management procedures.
Required Qualifications

Mid-senior experience in warehouse automation, robotics engineering, or field reliability engineering.

Hands-on experience with AMR/AGV systems, robotic workcells, or high-availability industrial automation.

Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ with production debugging experience.

Working knowledge of ROS/ROS2 concepts, robot telemetry/logging, and navigation stacks.

Experience integrating software systems with PLCs and warehouse applications (WMS/WES).

Comfortable owning incidents, writing postmortems, and driving corrective actions.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with computer vision and sensor fusion (LiDAR, depth cameras, IMU) in warehouse environments.

Familiarity with SLAM, localization, path planning, and multi-robot coordination.

Understanding of safety standards relevant to mobile robots and industrial environments.

Experience with cloud-based monitoring, observability stacks, and CI/CD for robotics software.
Compensation
Competitive hourly base pay:
$30–$50 per hour
