Job Description

Warehouse Robotics Engineer (Remote, US)

Design, deploy, and support robotic automation used in fulfillment centers and distribution operations. You will build robotics software and production-grade integrations connecting robots, sensors, PLCs, WMS/WES, and cloud services to improve throughput, safety, and uptime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own robotics integration from lab to warehouse: commissioning, configuration, rollout planning
  • Develop and maintain robotics software components (ROS2 nodes, drivers, state machines, tools)
  • Implement interfaces to PLCs, scanners, conveyor controls, safety controllers, and industrial networks
  • Improve navigation, task allocation, and motion performance using telemetry, logs, and replay
  • Build test harnesses, simulation checks, and regression suites for robot behaviors and edge cases
  • Define QA protocols for deployments, updates, and incident response; build runbooks
  • Create dashboards for fleet monitoring: uptime, cycle time, error rates, battery health, safety events
  • Diagnose production incidents using structured root-cause analysis; support critical launches/on-call

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years in robotics, automation, or industrial software engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong programming in Python and/or C++
  • Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2 or robotics middleware
  • Integration experience with WMS/WES/WCS and industrial controls (PLC, OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP)
  • Familiarity with SLAM/localization/mapping/path planning and production debugging practices

Why Rex.zone

Work on real warehouse robotics deployments with distributed teams, applying reliability, monitoring, and safety-first engineering practices.

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate: $30–$50/hr.
