We are looking for a Tech Lead – Embedded Software to lead embedded software development and product integration activities for automotive programs in Turkey. This role is ideal for a Tech Lead with 10+ years of experience in automotive embedded systems, especially in working across ECU suppliers, telematics suppliers, and automotive OEMs.
You will lead technical delivery from requirements through integration, validation, and production readiness. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in embedded software, deep understanding of vehicle communication and diagnostics, and the ability to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and OEM engineering stakeholders to ensure successful product launches.
What you'll do
Lead Embedded Software Delivery
● Lead end-to-end embedded software development for automotive ECU and telematics products.
● Own technical delivery from requirements through integration, validation, and production readiness.
● Drive technical decision-making across the project lifecycle.
Drive OEM and Supplier Integration
● Drive technical integration with tier-1 suppliers, telematics vendors, and OEM engineering teams.
● Work closely with OEMs and suppliers on requirement clarification, change requests, issue resolution, and release alignment.
● Manage external and internal technical dependencies to support successful product launches.
Translate Requirements into Solutions
● Translate customer and vehicle-level requirements into software architecture, features, interfaces, and implementation plans.
● Ensure system and software requirements are clearly defi ned, reviewed, and traceable.
● Support software design reviews and technical feasibility discussions.
Own System and Vehicle Integration
● Coordinate product bring-up, debugging, and validation on target hardware and in vehicle environments.
● Support integration of communication stacks and protocols such as CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS, and DoIP.
● Manage interfaces across software, hardware, systems, validation, quality, and program teams.
Guide Software Development
● Guide development for bootloader, BSP, middleware, application software, RTOS-based systems, and low-level drivers where needed.
● Review architecture, design, and implementation to ensure performance, reliability, and maintainability.
● Promote engineering best practices across the development team.
Resolve Technical Issues
● Lead root-cause analysis for fi eld, bench, HIL, and vehicle-level issues.
● Drive timely debugging and resolution of software and integration problems.
● Support launch readiness and production issue triage.
Ensure Quality and Compliance
● Ensure compliance with automotive development processes and quality standards such as ASPICE, ISO 26262, and cybersecurity practices.
● Support release planning, quality gates, and continuous product improvement.
● Maintain high standards for software quality, documentation, and technical reviews.
Mentor and Influence the Team
● Mentor engineers, review code and design artifacts, and help build strong engineering discipline within the team.
● Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams and programs.
● Enable effective collaboration across local and global stakeholders.
What you should know
● 10+ years of experience in embedded software development, with strong exposure to the automotive domain.
● Proven experience as a technical lead or senior engineer on ECU, telematics, or connected vehicle products.
● Strong background in C/C++ embedded development in resource-constrained and real-time environments.
● Solid knowledge of automotive communication and diagnostics: CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS, DoIP.
● Experience working directly with automotive OEMs, tier-1 suppliers, and external development partners.
● Strong understanding of software integration, system validation, and issue resolution in bench and vehicle environments.
● Familiarity with AUTOSAR, RTOS, bootloaders, BSP, middleware, and hardware/software integration.
● Experience with tools such as debuggers, CAN analyzers, requirement management tools, and defect tracking systems.
● Good understanding of automotive processes including ASPICE, functional safety, and release/change management.
● Exposure to telematics features such as connectivity modules, eCall, GNSS, OTA, remote diagnostics, or fleet/connected services is highly preferred.
● Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional and customer-facing environments.
● English proficiency is required; Turkish language skills are strongly preferred for local collaboration in Turkey.
● Willingness to travel within Turkey and occasionally internationally based on project needs.
