About the Opportunity:
The Senior Principal Engineer, Embedded Software designs and implements software applications to meet product functionality requirements and business objectives within the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Perform design and development of embedded software and processes within established medical product design controls under minimal oversight
• Improve software engineering process efficiency
• Resolve software defects
• Support creation of efficient software engineering practices
• Perform root cause and failure analysis activities
• Mentor and guide junior staff as needed
• Collaborate with internal and external teams on design, redesign, prototyping, and other software engineering activities
• Author and review software specifications
• Maintain technical records and files
• Assist with project timing and track progress against program schedule
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 8+ years of related experience
• Strong experience with C++, including object-oriented design, design patterns, and modern C++ features
• Strong experience with embedded development using one or more RTOS (e.g., QNX, MicroC/COS, VxWorks, ThreadX) and bare silicon
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable, maintainable software solutions
• Solid understanding of the software development life cycle, with emphasis on clean, testable code
• Proficiency with Linux shell scripting and command-line tools
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and tools
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective cross-functional collaboration
• Experience with the Qt framework for cross-platform applications and user interfaces is a strong plus

Compensation:
• Salary range: $135,000 to $145,000 annually
• Eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 10% of base salary
• Final pay depends on experience, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities
