Position Summary

As a Software Engineer - UI/UX , you will be responsible for designing and developing intuitive, high-performance user interfaces for Capla’s surgical navigation systems running on ARM-based Linux platforms .

This role focuses on building reliable, safety-critical medical device software that enables surgeons to interact seamlessly with complex navigation and visualization systems in the operating room. You will work closely with clinical, system, and quality teams to ensure usability, performance, and regulatory compliance.


Responsibilities

UI/UX Software Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain Qt-based UI applications using C++
  • Implement responsive, touch-friendly interfaces for OR environments
  • Develop modular UI components for navigation, robotics, imaging, and system control
  • Ensure real-time performance and stability on ARM Linux platforms

System Integration

  • Collaborate with backend, imaging, and hardware teams to integrate UI workflows
  • Interface with navigation, tracking, and video modules
  • Support multi-display and multi-input configurations

Usability & Performance

  • Optimize UI responsiveness, rendering performance, and memory usage
  • Implement error handling, alerts, and system status indicators
  • Ensure UI behavior aligns with clinical safety and usability requirements

QARA / Documentation

  • Prepare software design documents, unit test reports, and traceability artifacts
  • Support compliance with IEC 62304, IEC 62366, and 21 CFR Part 820
  • Ensure all UI development follows Capla’s QMS processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in C++ and Qt-based UI development
  • Strong experience on Linux / Embedded Linux / ARM platforms
  • Background in medical device software development

Preferred

  • Experience with OpenGL, GPU-accelerated rendering, or visualization pipelines
  • Familiarity with usability engineering standards for medical devices
  • Exposure to surgical navigation, robotics or imaging systems
  • Experience working in regulated healthcare environments
