Software Embedded Systems Engineer
to join our teams working on high-impact projects in the energy sector.
Your Role
As a
Software Embedded Systems Engineer,
you will contribute to the development of advanced embedded solutions for power systems. You will play a key role in the full software development lifecycle, working within an R&D environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
This position follows a
hybrid model (2 days per week on-site in Maia or Oeiras)
.
Key Responsibilities
Embedded Software Development

Develop software in C/C++ for real-time embedded systems in power protection, automation, and control

Contribute to the design, implementation, and validation of embedded solutions

Participate in the full development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to testing and integration
-
Ensure software quality, performance, and reliability in critical systems
Technical Collaboration

Work closely with multidisciplinary R&D teams in a collaborative and dynamic environment

Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and problem-solving sessions

Support testing activities, debugging, and system validation
Continuous Improvement & Innovation

Contribute to improving development practices, tools, and methodologies

Stay updated with emerging technologies in embedded systems, energy systems, and cybersecurity

Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team
Your Profile
Must Have
-
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
-
Strong programming skills in C/C++
-
Knowledge of embedded systems and real-time constraints
-
Familiarity with multithreading and/or multiprocessing concepts

Basic knowledge of Linux environments

Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset
-
Team-oriented, proactive, and results-driven

Passion for learning and developing new technical skills
Nice to Have

Experience with Bash scripting

Knowledge of communication protocols and technologies

Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts

Understanding of power systems

Basic knowledge of electronics and laboratory instrumentation

Experience with version control systems (Git, SVN)
