Here, you’ll do more than join something. The SMC/PMU group is seeking engineers to work on the software and firmware for the SMC (System Management Controller) in a wide range of Apple products! In this role, you will be an individual contributor developing embedded software solutions for our current and future products. This is a highly cross-functional role where you will work closely with SW, HW, Systems, Platform Architecture, and our Silicon partners and lead the SoC bring-up and feature development from pre-silicon to commercialization.n

Minimum Qualifications
Proficient in Embedded firmware or kernel driver development in C or C++nA fundamental knowledge of embedded processors, with in-depth knowledge of real time operating system concepts.nExperience with at least one peripheral protocol; e.g. I2C/SMBus, UART, SPI, USB, Network stack etcnA focus on generating stable code through detailed testingn
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience designing, developing and testing embedded software using C/C++.nExperience with advanced micro-controllers or kernel level SoC programmingnExperience in silicon and pre-silicon bring-up.nExperience developing tools using Python.nAbility to comprehend hardware specs and schematics.nExperience with code management tools such as Git, CVS, SVN, or Perforce.nExperience with debuggers such as gdb, lldb, etc.nHands on experience with test equipment including scopes, analyzers, and multi-meters.nExcellent communication and collaboration skillsnHighly professional, with the ability to deliver proven work on tight schedules.nBachelor or Master degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.n
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $220,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.u003cbru003eu003cbru003eApple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
