Job Title: Senior Python Full-Stack Engineer / Embedded Security Engineer

Location: Johnston, IA 50131 (100% Onsite )

Contract Duration: 24 Months Contract with a possibility of Extension

Shift Structure: First Shift | Standard Day Hours, Monday through Friday

Pay Rate: $79.00 - $87.00/hr on W2 (Only for USC/GC)

Assessment Requirement: A Glider technical assessment will be conducted during the screening process.

Job Description:

Our client, a global leader in advanced technology and precision industrial machinery, is seeking a high-caliber Senior Python Full-Stack/Backend Engineer to help secure and build the backend infrastructure for its next generation of connected vehicles and autonomous machines. Operating out of the Johnston, IA facility, this role focuses heavily on Python-based backend architecture and full-stack integration to connect embedded software, vehicle networks, and cloud platform ecosystems. You will serve as a technical leader and subject-matter expert, developing new software functionality to support vehicle autonomy while ensuring resilience against cybersecurity vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Backend Infrastructure Development: Develop, code, configure, and test backend programs, focusing heavily on robust Python-based backend services and full-stack architectures.
• Security Architecture & Design: Define and review technical architectures for embedded systems, influencing the design of new features across embedded, cloud, and mobile platforms.
• Cryptographic Control: Design key management frameworks and access control mechanisms tailored for resource-constrained, real-time embedded environments.
• Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Partner closely with embedded software, electrical systems, and cloud engineering teams to execute scalable software specifications and solutions.
• Mentorship & Quality Control: Evaluate application performance, execute documentation to strict Agile standards, and provide technical coaching and mentorship to junior software engineers on the product team.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Python Expertise: 8+ years of full-stack software development experience with a heavy focus on building Python-based backend services and infrastructure.
• Operating Systems: Direct hands-on operational experience with various Linux distributions.
• Embedded Controls: Proven experience in the direct application of cryptographic security controls, data encryption, or protocols for embedded hardware/systems.
• Agile Engineering: 4 to 7 years of deep experience managing competing priorities, analyzing requirements, and implementing designs within an enterprise Agile environment.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical field experience.

Stand-Out Skills (Preferred):

• Practical experience in the development or communication setup of IoT and edge devices.
• Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) experience, including certificate lifecycle management and hardware key protection.
• Prior professional exposure in a DevOps capacity or developing AWS-native applications.
