About the role
As a Senior Simulation Engineer, you will lead the development and integration of advanced simulation environments to support robotics research, testing, and deployment. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to design realistic physics-based simulations, implement complex robotic behaviors, and optimize rendering and performance. Your work will directly impact the development and validation of real-world robotic systems by providing scalable, high-fidelity virtual testing environments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of physics, software engineering, and robotics.
Your Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable and high-fidelity simulation environments for various robotic systems (e.g., manipulators, mobile robots, humanoid robots)

Develop and integrate realistic sensor models (e.g., LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, force/torque sensors) into simulation platforms

Create accurate kinematic and dynamic models of robots and their interactions with the environment

Collaborate with controls, planning, perception, and software engineers to ensure simulations accurately reflect real-world robot behavior and performance

Develop tools and pipelines for simulation data analysis, visualization, and automated testing

Identify, diagnose, and resolve simulation fidelity issues and discrepancies between simulation and reality

Drive the adoption of best practices in simulation development, including modularity, reusability, and performance optimization

Contribute to the architectural design and evolution of our simulation infrastructure

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in robotics simulation tools, techniques, and research

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
Essential Skills

Degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

5+ years of experience in robotics simulation development

Proficient in C++ or Python and in one or more major robotics simulation platforms like Gazebo, Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or similar

Strong understanding of robotics fundamentals (kinematics, dynamics, control, sensor fusion)

Experience with 3D modeling and creating realistic simulation environments

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Experience with real-time physics engines and GPU acceleration

As a plus: Knowledge of reinforcement learning or synthetic data generation

As a plus: Familiarity with cloud-based simulations and CI/CD pipelines
