We are looking for a Senior Robotics Engineer to join our dynamic Robotics & Autonomous Systems Department. At CyRIC, your work won't remain in the laboratory. You'll contribute to products that are designed, manufactured, tested, and deployed internationally, working across the complete engineering lifecycle—from concept and simulation to field validation and commercialisation.

You'll play a key role in shaping system architectures, mentoring talented engineers, and driving the development of next-generation autonomous robotic platforms.


🔍 What You’ll Do

As a Senior Robotics Engineer, you will:

  • Design, develop, and integrate advanced robotic systems for autonomous aerial (UAV) and ground (UGV) platforms.
  • Develop perception, localization, navigation, sensor fusion, and control algorithms for autonomous systems
  • Design and implement software architectures using ROS/ROS2 and modern robotics frameworks
  • Develop and validate robotic solutions through simulation ( Gazebo Sim) and real-world testing.
  • Integrate sensors, embedded electronics, communications, and AI modules into complete robotic platforms.
  • Lead technical investigations, prototype new concepts, and contribute to next-generation product development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electronics, embedded software, AI, manufacturing, and project management teams, as well as external partners and end-users on EU-funded and commercial projects.
  • Own robotic subsystems from concept through deployment.
  • Support field testing, demonstrations, customer trials, and product deployment.


🧠 What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline (MSc/PhD is an advantage)
  • 8-12+ years of experience in robotics or autonomous systems
  • Strong coding skills in C/C++, Python, MATLAB
  • Experience with ROS/ROS2, Linux, Git, OpenCV, Embedded Linux, Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, STM32 etc.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, simulations, and control systems


💡 Bonus if you have:

  • Industrial experience in Robotics or/and drones
  • Experience writing technical documentation or R&D proposals
  • Participated in EU or national research projects
