Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced PCB Design Engineer with expertise in designing high-frequency, high-power electronic circuits for power conversion systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in multilayer PCB layout, high-current bus structures, EMI/EMC-aware design, and thermal optimization for power electronics products such as EV chargers, DC-DC converters, inverters, UPS, ESS, motor drives, and renewable energy systems.


Key Responsibilities

• Design multilayer PCBs for high-frequency switched-mode power converters operating from tens of kHz to several MHz

• Develop PCB layouts for high-power applications (1 kW to 500 kW+) using SiC and GaN devices.


Optimize PCB layouts for:

• High-current carrying capability

• Low parasitic inductance and capacitance

• Minimum switching loop inductance

• Low EMI/EMI compliance

• Thermal performance and reliability


Design power and control PCBs for converters including:

• AC-DC PFC

• DC-DC converters (LLC, DAB, Phase Shifted Full Bridge, Flyback)

• DC-AC Inverters

• Active Front Ends (AFE)

• Cascaded H-Bridge (CHB) and Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) systems

• Work closely with hardware, firmware, control, and mechanical teams during product development

• Perform PCB stack-up planning, controlled impedance design, creepage and clearance verification, and

Design for Manufacturability (DFM)

• Generate fabrication outputs including Gerber files, ODB++, assembly drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation

• Coordinate with PCB manufacturers and EMS partners for prototype fabrication and production

• Support board bring-up, debugging, EMC testing, thermal validation, and design improvements


Required Skills

• Strong experience with PCB design tools such as KiCad, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or Mentor

Xpedition

• Experience designing 4-layer to 16-layer PCBs


Strong understanding of:

• High-frequency PCB layout techniques

• High-current copper routing and busbar integration

• Gate driver layout for SiC and GaN devices

• Isolation barriers and high-voltage safety requirements

• Creepage and clearance standards

• Differential and controlled impedance routing

• Grounding and return current management

• Power integrity (PI) and signal integrity (SI)

• Knowledge of EMI/EMC mitigation techniques and standards

• Experience with thermal management using heavy copper PCBs, thermal vias, copper balancing, and heat

spreaders

• Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-2221, IPC-7351, IPC-A-600)

• Experience in DFM, DFA, and DFT practices


Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / Bachelors degree in Electrical / Electronics / communication / Computer Engineering or related

field

• Candidates with significant industrial and technology commercialization experience will be preferred

• 5 to 10 years of experience in power and control PCB design

• Hands on experience in design of PCBs including schematics and multi-layer PCBs for micro-controller and interfaces

• PCB design for EV chargers, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), UPS, Solar Inverters, Motor Drives,

or Industrial Power Supplies

• Experience with high-voltage systems up to 1500 VDC and medium-voltage power electronics is an advantage

• Knowledge of digital interfaces such as CAN, RS-485, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART, and isolated communication

• Familiarity with EMC compliance standards such as IEC 61000 and CISPR

• Experience working with PCB manufacturers for impedance-controlled, heavy copper, and high-voltage PCBs
