Senior HV Power Electronics Engineer

6-Month Contract | £85/hr Inside IR35 | Hybrid – London

We're supporting an innovative engineering business developing advanced high-voltage power systems and are looking for a Senior HV Power Electronics Engineer to join on an initial 6-month contract.


This role will focus on assessing, validating, and resolving HV creepage and clearance challenges , supporting electrical safety compliance, and providing practical engineering solutions across power electronics and HV switching systems.


Responsibilities

  • Assess and provide solutions for HV creepage and clearance issues.
  • Support design verification and validation activities.
  • Review power electronics designs, schematics, layouts, and safety architectures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and technical investigations.
  • Produce engineering documentation including requirements, test specifications, and verification reports.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure compliance and technical performance.


We're Interested in Engineers With Experience In

  • High-voltage power electronics.
  • Insulation coordination, creepage and clearance analysis.
  • AC-DC, DC-DC converters, power supplies, inverters, or HV distribution systems.
  • Design verification, validation, and compliance activities.
  • Safety-critical or highly regulated environments.
  • Requirements capture and technical documentation.


Contract Details

  • £85 per hour
  • Inside IR35
  • Hybrid working – London
  • Initial 6-month contract
  • Extensions highly likely
