About the Pync:

Pync builds AI-powered biometric wearables that help pet parents understand their pets like never before. By turning continuous sensor data into actionable health insights, we help shift pet care from reactive treatment to proactive prevention.

We're an early-stage company building at the intersection of AI, hardware, and pet health, and we're looking for a Head of Engineering to help lead the next phase of growth.

About the role:

As Senior Firmware Engineer, you'll own the firmware that powers Pync's biometric wearables — from low-level embedded systems to wireless communication and OTA updates. You'll work at the critical intersection of hardware and software, ensuring our devices are reliable, power-efficient, and production-ready.

This role is perfect for a hands-on firmware engineer who wants their work to have a direct impact on a product that millions of pet parents will depend on every day.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain firmware for Pync's wearable biometric devices
  • Own BLE and wireless communication stack implementation
  • Implement and manage OTA update mechanisms
  • Optimize firmware for low-power operation and battery life
  • Work closely with hardware engineers on schematic reviews and bring-up
  • Debug and resolve issues spanning firmware and hardware layers
  • Contribute to firmware architecture decisions as the product scales

Qualifications:

  • Loves pets and animals, and wants to help shape the future of pet care together with the team at Pync
  • 5+ years of firmware development experience
  • Expert in C/C++ with deep embedded systems knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS and low-power hardware
  • Experience with BLE and wireless protocols
  • Comfortable reading schematics and working closely with hardware teams
  • Sharp debugger who can diagnose issues across firmware and hardware layers
  • Experience with OTA update mechanisms and power optimization
