The Opportunity

Join an advanced aerospace engineering team developing next-generation aircraft systems, focused on the development and maintenance of avionics embedded firmware and manufacturing test systems for a highly integrated flight platform.

This role is centered around safety-critical embedded development, avionics architecture, hardware/software integration, and certification-focused firmware engineering within a fast- paced aerospace environment.

Responsibilities

Embedded Firmware Development

  • Design and implement embedded firmware for avionics systems
  • Support and maintain manufacturing and hardware test systems
  • Oversee firmware architecture across avionics subsystems
  • Develop firmware primarily in C/C++ for embedded MCU-based systems
  • Implement verification and validation (V&V) activities

Systems Integration & Certification

  • Ensure development activities align with DO-178C processes and safety-critical development standards
  • Collaborate with systems engineering and cross-functional teams to define aircraft system requirements and safety considerations
  • Conduct trade studies and evaluate design decisions across avionics architectures
  • Design and recommend sensor interfaces and low-level hardware integrations

Hardware & Debugging

  • Work with low-level communication interfaces including SPI, I2C, CAN FD, and UART
  • Read and interpret circuit schematics and hardware documentation
  • Troubleshoot embedded hardware and electronics using standard lab equipment and
  • debugging tools
  • Develop Python scripts and tooling to support testing, automation, and development
  • workflows
