About The Role

As a Senior Embedded Tester in our R&D team, you will be a key contributor to our QA efforts, working closely with the Test Lead and collaborating with teams across multiple sites to ensure high quality across our products. You will plan, execute, and document testing activities spanning embedded software, hardware integrations, and PC applications.

The role involves both hands‑on testing and contributing to the continuous improvement of our QA practices, test strategies, and release processes.

This role is based at our headquarters in Gothenburg.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, and document manual test cases for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes
  • Perform regression testing to ensure stability and quality across releases
  • Plan and coordinate test activities together with developers, product owners, and technical writers
  • Report, track, and verify defects, including clear reproduction steps and follow‑ups
  • Develop and maintain test documentation (test plans, test cases, test results)
  • Support integration and system testing across multiple applications and platforms
  • Contribute to automation efforts and collaborating on test script development
  • Participate in release validation to ensure quality criteria are met before deployment

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a structured and detail-oriented engineer with strong analytical skills, a proactive mindset, and who enjoys solving complex technical problems. You are a collaborative team player who communicates clearly and works well with others, while also being comfortable taking ownership and working independently.

Key qualifications include:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent
  • Several years of experience in testing embedded systems, including firmware validation, HIL, and system integration testing
  • Experience working with and understanding of complex, multi‑component systems (firmware, hardware and companion software)
  • Good understanding of communication protocols
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with test design, risk-based testing, and defect management (e.g., Jira)
  • Ability to analyze and translate requirements into effective test scenarios
  • Experience contributing to release processes, test planning, and quality gates
  • Experience with test automation, scripting, or CI/CD tools
  • Fluent in English, Swedish is meritorious

Meritorious:

  • ISTQB certification
  • Experience with debugging tools for embedded systems
  • Knowledge of API, performance, or reliability testing
