Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 + Excellent Benefits

We're recruiting on behalf of an innovative UK engineering organisation developing advanced autonomous technologies.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, working across the full software development lifecycle on complex embedded systems that demand high levels of performance, reliability and safety.

This is a permanent position offering a hybrid working model, combining office collaboration with flexibility to work from home.

Due to the nature of the projects, regular time on-site will be required.

The Role

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in the development, implementation and verification of embedded software for advanced control systems.

Working closely with systems, electronics and software engineers, you'll contribute to projects from initial requirements through to testing and delivery.

This is an opportunity to work on technically challenging products where your work will have a direct impact on the development of next-generation autonomous systems.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong embedded C programming experience.
• Experience developing software for real-time embedded systems.
• Knowledge of 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers.
• Experience with communication protocols including CAN, SPI, I2C, TCP and UDP.
• Understanding of software requirements, design and verification.
• Experience taking software from concept through to delivery.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and control systems.

Desirable Experience

• Python, Rust or C++ development.
• MATLAB & Simulink.
• Model-Based Design.
• Flight control systems or autonomous systems.
• ArduPilot and Lua scripting.
• Safety-critical software development.
• Agile development methodologies.
• PID control systems.
• Aerospace, defence or aviation industry experience.
