Ciklum is looking for a Senior Embedded Engineer to join our team full-time in Slovakia.

About The Role

As a Senior Embedded Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. Our client is a company that is loved by many people worldwide, creating memories for all generations. You will have the opportunity to redefine how kids learn and play and to build technology that helps the next generations of kids. We established a long-term, strategic partnership with a client to integrate a programming language that will power a unified platform for their product ecosystem. Our team will enhance user experience, introduce innovative features, and redesign the existing architecture to enable seamless integration across client products. As a Senior Embedded Engineer, you will be at the forefront implementing this new language, ensuring high performance, reliability, and integration across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Rearchitecting and creating new product versions: We aim to improve specific aspects of the products and introduce updated versions utilising new technologies
  • Integration of tech stack: We will assist in connecting the tech stack of product with other clients products. Previously developed in isolation, the aim is to unify all products onto a single platform and tech stack
  • Support and development of the new game flow: We will provide assistance and expertise in enhancing the game flow, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable user experience
  • Implementation of new games: Our team will work on the implementation and development of new games, expanding the product offerings
  • Integration of new programming language, including its syntax, semantics, and core libraries
  • Implement compiler front-end and back-end components, including parsers, optimizers, and code generators
  • Optimize performance, memory management, and concurrency models
  • Develop toolchains, including linters, debuggers, and build systems
  • Collaborate on runtime system development and integration with existing infrastructures
  • Conduct benchmarking, profiling, and performance tuning
  • Maintenance and bug fixing

Requirements

  • Location : Bratislava
  • Fully remote is NOT possible (at least 2-3 days/week in the office is a must)
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of GIT version control
  • Strong self-management skills

Desirable

  • Familiarity in C, C++, Rust programming
  • Experience with high-level languages (Python, C#)
  • Experience with Docker
  • Experience with mobile-specific features and APIs, such as touch input handling, accelerometer, camera, GPS, Bluetooth communication, and push notifications

Personal Skills

  • Proficient in both verbal and written communication
  • Possess a strong command of the English language for effective daily communication
  • Demonstrates a deep passion for crafting high-quality code, adhering to clean code principles
  • Actively contributes by sharing new ideas and proposing product improvements to colleagues
  • Solid understanding of compiler design, ASTs, type systems, and optimization techniques
  • Experience with LLVM, GCC, or other compiler frameworks is a plus
  • Knowledge of low-level memory management and concurrency models
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work on complex systems

The salary starts from 3000 Eur gross. The final salary depends on the previous experience and professional knowledge of the candidate.
