A leading UK technology innovator is seeking a Senior Electronics / Firmware Engineer to join their growing R&D team in Warwick. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will contribute directly to the design and development of cutting-edge electronic and embedded systems powering an innovative range of measurement products.
You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering environment spanning electronics hardware, embedded software, cloud/backend systems, and mobile applications—playing a key role in shaping both current and next-generation products.
Key Responsibilities

Design robust electronic products from concept through to production, developing innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges

Take a hands-on role in hardware and firmware development activities

Oversee PCB design and layout, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and manufacturable solutions

Develop and define test plans for hardware verification and production testing

Support environmental, reliability, and EMC testing during product qualification

Perform circuit analysis including power consumption, component tolerance, and system reliability

Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to capture, refine, and implement design requirements

Contribute to design-for-manufacture, design-for-test, and product reliability strategies (DFx)
Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience delivering digital electronics designs from concept to production

Strong understanding of microprocessor-based, battery-powered embedded systems

Hands-on experience with embedded C on microcontrollers

Familiarity with PCB design and layout processes

Knowledge of standard communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, USB)

Experience with test, verification, and validation techniques across the product lifecycle

Strong understanding of hardware engineering principles with exposure to embedded software development

Degree in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent industry experience)

Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines
Desirable Experience

Full product lifecycle development and ownership

Experience with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled battery-powered devices

Exposure to environmental and EMC testing during certification

Experience with production test development and manufacturing environments

Knowledge of analogue electronics design

Familiarity with mechanical/industrial design or manufacturing engineering

Experience supporting certification processes (CE, FCC, ISED)
