Job Description

Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full Time) — Guatemala Focus

Rex.zone connects engineers to production-grade robotics programs spanning autonomous systems, industrial automation, and field robotics. While the keyword focus is Guatemala, this role is explicitly Remote and supports distributed team collaboration across time zones.

What You Will Do

  • Design, implement, and validate robotics software components using ROS2 nodes, services, and messages
  • Build perception pipelines with computer vision and sensor fusion
  • Develop SLAM and localization modules with measurable performance benchmarks
  • Implement motion planning and navigation behaviors for reliable autonomy
  • Tune control loops and trajectory tracking to improve stability and tracking error
  • Create simulation test scenarios in Gazebo (or equivalent) and run regression/performance testing
  • Define acceptance criteria and QA checks for safety-critical edge cases
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and product teams to ship dependable robot capabilities

Core Deliverables

  • ROS2 packages with maintainable APIs and clear interface definitions
  • Reproducible test harnesses, log/bag replay tooling, and structured validation workflows
  • Engineering documentation, limitations, and operational runbooks for deployments

Required Skills

  • Mid-senior robotics engineering experience; ownership of modules end-to-end
  • Strong Linux and software engineering fundamentals
  • Proficiency in Python and C++
  • Experience debugging distributed robot systems using logs, bag files, and profiling
  • Understanding of perception, localization, planning, and control systems
  • Experience shipping production features with code review, testing, and CI/CD

Compensation

Competitive hourly pay: $30–$50/hr (USD), based on skills alignment and scope.

How To Apply

Apply via Rex.zone. Highlight shipped robotics features, measurable performance improvements (latency, accuracy, stability), and your testing/validation approach for edge cases.
