Job Description

Robotics Engineer (Remote) — Rex.zone

Join Rex.zone to help teams ship production robotics systems—from prototype to deployment. This remote-first, full-time role supports robotics engineering work across perception, SLAM/localization, sensor fusion, motion planning, control, simulation validation, and reliability testing.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain ROS/ROS2 nodes for perception, planning, and control
  • Implement and tune SLAM/localization and state estimation (sensor fusion)
  • Develop motion planning and control loops for navigation and manipulation
  • Create simulation-first validation workflows (Gazebo/Isaac Sim) and hardware-in-the-loop tests
  • Define test plans, logging/telemetry, metrics, and regression checks to improve safety and reliability
  • Optimize runtime performance on Linux edge platforms; profile latency and CPU/GPU usage
  • Document interfaces, message schemas, and operational runbooks for field support

Qualifications

  • Mid-senior experience delivering robotics software to real hardware deployments
  • Strong Python and C++ skills with modern software engineering practices
  • Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2, debugging tools, and Linux development
  • Familiarity with autonomy stacks: perception, SLAM, planning, control, and safety
  • Comfort collaborating cross-functionally in a remote setting

Nice to Have

  • Manipulation experience (IK, grasp planning, trajectory optimization)
  • Embedded compute experience (e.g., Jetson) and real-time constraints
  • Exposure to robotics MLOps and dataset curation

Compensation

Base pay: $30–$50 per hour (USD), dependent on experience.
