Job Description

Robotics Engineer (Querétaro) — Remote, Full-Time

Rex.zone connects mid-senior engineers with remote robotics work across industrial automation and autonomous systems. You will design, implement, and validate production-grade robot software with an emphasis on reliability, testability, safety, and deployment readiness.

What You Will Do

  • Own robot software modules from concept through deployment (ROS/ROS2)
  • Implement navigation, localization, SLAM, and motion planning stacks
  • Integrate sensors (cameras, LiDAR, IMU, encoders, force/torque) and actuators
  • Build simulation scenarios using Gazebo/Ignition and support simulation-to-real workflows
  • Develop hardware-in-the-loop validation, regression suites, and acceptance criteria
  • Optimize latency/throughput on embedded and edge compute (Linux)
  • Triage field issues using logs/telemetry and perform root-cause analysis
  • Collaborate on safety reviews and operational readiness

Required Qualifications

  • Experience shipping robotics or automation systems in production
  • Strong C++ and Python skills
  • Hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience (TF, message definitions, nav stacks, lifecycle nodes)
  • Knowledge of kinematics/dynamics, control concepts, and motion planning
  • Familiarity with SLAM/localization and sensor fusion
  • Comfort with Linux, git, Docker, and CI/CD practices
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with clear written communication

Preferred Qualifications

  • MoveIt2, Nav2 tuning, or custom planning approaches
  • Computer vision/perception (OpenCV, depth/stereo, AprilTags)
  • Embedded systems/drivers; PLC/SCADA or industrial protocols
  • Profiling for real-time constraints; safety exposure (risk assessment)

Compensation

Hourly base pay range: $30–$50/hr (final offer depends on experience and scope).
