About Pilotcrew AI
Pilotcrew AI builds infrastructure for AI Agent Evaluation. We benchmark large language models, run automated agent evaluations, power human-in-the-loop assessments, and host AI arenas for competitive testing.
Our mission is to make AI agents measurable, reliable, and production-ready through structured, scalable evaluation systems.
About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on Robotics Engineer who can work across mechanical, electrical, and software systems to build and deploy real-world robotic platforms. This is a high-ownership, build-focused role — you will design, integrate, debug, and iterate until systems are stable and repeatable, not just working once.
What You'll Do
-
Design and develop mechanical and electromechanical subsystems
-
Write software for hardware control, sequencing, and device interfaces (Python, C/C++)
-
Integrate sensors, actuators, motors, and embedded systems into working platforms
-
Perform full system bring-up: from assembly → first test → stable operation
-
Debug failures across mechanical, electrical, and software layers
-
Improve system reliability, repeatability, and performance over time
-
Collaborate with internal teams to test and evaluate AI-driven and intelligent systems
Required Skills & Experience
-
Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field
-
2–6 years of hands-on experience building and delivering real-world hardware or robotic systems
-
At least one complex physical system shipped with real ownership
-
Strong programming skills in Python and/or C/C++
-
Hands-on experience with:
Motors, drivers, and actuators
Sensors (encoders, IMU, cameras, etc.)
Power systems and basic electronics
-
Strong depth in at least one of:
Mechanical design (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
Controls systems
Embedded / firmware development
-
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across the full stack
Good to Have
-
Experience with ROS / ROS2
-
Exposure to simulation tools (Gazebo, Unity, or similar)
-
Experience building systems that ran reliably over time, not just in demos
-
Exposure to AI/ML systems or computer vision
-
Background in startups, research labs, or independent builds
-
Robotics competition experience (RoboCon, etc.)
What We Value
-
Ownership
— you take a system from idea to working solution and are accountable for it
-
Hands-on mindset
— comfortable in the lab, not just in simulation
-
Comfort with ambiguity
— we're still figuring things out and that's part of the job
-
Execution speed
— we build and iterate fast; you should too
-
Learning attitude
— willing to pick up new domains quickly
Why Join Pilotcrew AI
• Work on cutting-edge AI agent infrastructure
• Build systems that evaluate and shape next-gen AI models
• High ownership and fast execution environment
-
Opportunity to work across full-stack and AI systems
