Job Description

Job Title: Robotics Engineer & Technical Trainer

Location: Sarjapura, Bengaluru (On-site)

Job Type: Contract

Benefits: Accommodation provided

Role Description This is a contract, on-site role based in Sarjapura, Bengaluru, uniquely blending technical engineering with educational mentorship. The Robotics Engineer & Technical Trainer will not only design, develop, and test robotic systems but also translate these complex builds into engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students.

Day-to-day responsibilities include building functional robotic components, prototyping custom parts, and delivering curriculum through inquiry-based learning. The ideal candidate will seamlessly bridge the gap between advanced engineering—utilizing edge computing and computer vision—and accessible education. You will be responsible for preparing students to understand foundational concepts, build their own autonomous systems (like rovers or manipulators), and potentially compete in advanced technical showcases and robotics competitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Development & Prototyping: Design, build, and test robotic systems and automation solutions. Utilize 3D printing and rapid prototyping to create custom chassis, mounts, and functional lab hardware.
  • Student Training & Mentorship: Deliver hands-on instruction in robotics, computer vision, coding, and basic electronics, breaking down complex engineering principles into digestible, engaging lessons.
  • Hardware & Circuit Integration: Lead students through the practical integration of microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and custom circuit boards, fostering a hands-on environment geared toward problem-solving.
  • System Optimization & Troubleshooting: Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot all deployed robotic systems, edge computing modules, and lab equipment (including 3D printers) to ensure a seamless and safe learning environment.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Communicate student progress, technical findings, and curriculum effectiveness to stakeholders, ensuring the training aligns with broader educational goals.

Qualifications

  • Robotics & Vision Foundation: Strong applied knowledge of robotic systems design, kinematics, and control mechanisms. Must possess a good hold on Computer Vision (CV) applications and object detection workflows.
  • Edge Computing & Microcontrollers: Extensive hands-on experience with embedded systems and single-board computers, specifically Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson Nano.
  • Electronics & Circuitry: Solid understanding of core electronics, circuit design, breadboarding, and soldering, with the ability to teach these fundamentals safely.
  • 3D Printing Expertise: Proficiency with rapid prototyping workflows, including slicing software, operating FDM 3D printers (such as Creality machines), and troubleshooting common issues like PLA bed adhesion and extrusion anomalies.
  • Demonstrated Project Experience: A strong, verifiable portfolio of past end-to-end projects. Candidates must be able to showcase functional builds (e.g., autonomous rovers, robotic arms, or competitive robotics entries) during the interview process.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience in software development languages commonly used in robotics (e.g., Python, C++, ROS, or similar frameworks).
  • Educational Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and explain highly technical concepts clearly to student learners.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work independently, manage concurrent build-and-train schedules, and meet project deadlines while working on-site in Sarjapura.
