Job Description

Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)

Join Rex.zone to design, integrate, and test production-ready robotics software across perception, planning, controls, and hardware-software integration. You will build reliable pipelines that connect sensors (LiDAR, camera, IMU), SLAM/localization, motion planning, and real-time control to improve autonomous behavior.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement ROS2 modules using Python and C++
  • Integrate and calibrate sensors (camera, LiDAR, IMU) and maintain time synchronization
  • Develop and improve SLAM, localization, and sensor fusion robustness
  • Implement motion planning and trajectory generation with safety constraints
  • Tune and validate control systems (PID, basic MPC) for stable actuation
  • Build simulation-first workflows and regression tests (e.g., Gazebo) to prevent performance drift
  • Analyze logs/telemetry, reproduce edge cases, and improve autonomy reliability
  • Collaborate on requirements, interfaces, and release processes for deployed robots

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics systems (production or advanced prototypes)
  • Strong C++ and Python skills with clean, testable code practices
  • Hands-on ROS2 and distributed robotic systems experience
  • Working knowledge of SLAM/localization, sensor fusion, kinematics, and real-time constraints
  • Ability to debug complex hardware-software interactions using logs, tools, and metrics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Embedded/Linux deployment experience (e.g., Jetson)
  • Gazebo/Isaac Sim experience and synthetic test generation
  • Safety practices, fault handling, and operational monitoring for robots
  • CI/CD for robotics and automated regression suites

Compensation

Competitive hourly base pay: $30–$50 per hour (USD).
