Robotics Engineer (Remote) — Trujillo Hiring Page
Rex.zone connects Mid-Senior Robotics Engineers with Technology teams building production-ready autonomous systems. You will design, ship, maintain, and debug robotics software across perception, localization, planning, and control in real-world deployments.
Key Responsibilities
-
Design and implement robotics software using ROS/ROS2, C++, and Python
-
Build perception and state-estimation pipelines using sensor fusion (IMU, LiDAR, cameras, wheel odometry)
-
Implement or integrate SLAM, localization, and navigation stacks
-
Develop motion planning and control modules (trajectory generation, MPC/PID tuning where applicable)
-
Create simulation scenarios and regression tests in Gazebo (or similar) and validate behavior in sim and on hardware
-
Instrument logs/telemetry, root-cause failures, and improve reliability and uptime
-
Collaborate with hardware/embedded teams on drivers, timing, and compute constraints
-
Document interfaces, runbooks, and testing procedures to support deployment and operations
Required Qualifications
-
Mid-Senior experience building production robotics systems
-
Strong C++ and Python skills
-
Hands-on experience with ROS/ROS2 architecture, TF frames, launch systems, and debugging
-
Familiarity with navigation, SLAM/localization, and control fundamentals
-
Experience with Linux and performance profiling; ability to write testable code and reproducible experiments
Preferred Qualifications
-
Computer vision for robotics (calibration, feature tracking, visual odometry)
-
LiDAR/point cloud processing and mapping
-
Real-time systems and embedded constraints; field deployment, fleet operations, and OTA updates
-
Safety standards, hazard analysis, and validation workflows
