Robotics Engineer (Remote, Full-Time)
Rex.zone is hiring for a remote, full-time Robotics Engineer focused on building and validating production-grade robotics software for real-world automation. You will own components end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to simulation and field validation, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and measurable performance.
Key Responsibilities
-
Deliver production robotics software components for perception, localization, planning, and control
-
Build ROS2/ROS nodes and integrate sensors (LiDAR, cameras, IMU), drivers, and middleware
-
Implement and tune SLAM and sensor fusion; validate accuracy and reduce drift in real environments
-
Develop motion planning and robot control loops for stability, safety, and performance
-
Create simulation scenarios (Gazebo/Isaac Sim) and regression tests/metrics to track autonomy performance
-
Analyze logs/telemetry (including rosbag) for debugging, profiling, and root-cause analysis
-
Support perception dataset QA/labeling workflows when needed (bounding boxes, segmentation, keypoints)
-
Collaborate with mechanical/electrical teams on bring-up, calibration, timing, and compute constraints
-
Document system design, interfaces, operating procedures, and deployment runbooks
Required Qualifications
-
Mid-senior experience building robotics systems in production or advanced R&D
-
Strong C++ and Python skills for real-time or near-real-time robotics applications
-
Hands-on ROS2/ROS experience (topics, services, actions, TF, launch)
-
Experience with SLAM, localization, sensor fusion, and coordinate frames
-
Motion planning and control fundamentals (e.g., PID/MPC, trajectory generation)
-
Linux, Git workflows, and containerization (Docker)
-
Ability to design test plans, metrics, and regression tests for robustness and safety
