Job Description

About The Role

Rex.zone is hiring for a remote, full-time Robotics Engineer role focused on designing, integrating, and validating robotic systems across perception, motion planning, control, and embedded software. You will build robotics workflows that connect sensors to autonomy stacks and improve reliability through simulation and field testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own robotics system design from requirements through deployment
  • Build and maintain ROS/ROS 2 nodes, message interfaces, TF frames, and launch configurations
  • Implement perception pipelines for camera/LiDAR/IMU including calibration and time synchronization
  • Develop sensor fusion and localization/SLAM components (e.g., EKF/UKF)
  • Create motion planning and control modules (trajectory generation, PID/MPC) under real-time constraints
  • Improve autonomy behavior via simulation, regression tests, and structured field validation
  • Define and track performance metrics (latency, drift, tracking error) and drive improvements
  • Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware, and product teams to integrate full stacks
  • Support safety validation, fail-safe behaviors, and monitoring for deployed robots
  • Write documentation, runbooks, and participate in design reviews and code review

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-senior experience shipping robotics software or autonomy features
  • Strong C++ and Python for robotics and systems programming
  • Proficiency with ROS/ROS 2, URDF, robot bring-up, and distributed debugging
  • Foundations in kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and state estimation
  • Experience with perception tooling (e.g., OpenCV, point clouds) and sensor integration
  • Familiarity with simulation (Gazebo/Ignition) and test automation

Compensation

Base pay range: $30–$50 per hour (USD), HOURLY . Compensation may vary by scope, seniority, and interview performance.

How To Apply

Apply via Rex.zone with your resume and a brief summary of robotics systems you have built (perception, planning, control, embedded, or deployment). Include links to relevant repositories or technical write-ups when available.
