Job Description

About The Role

As a Robotics Engineer, you will design and ship robotic capabilities end-to-end: perception pipelines, state estimation, control loops, motion planning, and system integration across sensors and actuators. You will work with ROS/ROS2 nodes, real-time constraints, simulation environments, and on-robot testing to move from prototypes to production.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain ROS2 packages, message interfaces, and launch configurations for multi-sensor robotic platforms
  • Implement perception and sensor fusion pipelines using cameras, LiDAR, IMU, and wheel odometry for SLAM, localization, and obstacle detection
  • Build motion planning and control components (trajectory generation, PID/MPC tuning, safety constraints) and validate in simulation and on hardware
  • Create test plans, performance benchmarks, and reliability checks (latency, drift, failure modes)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate embedded systems and cloud telemetry for monitoring and diagnostics

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-Senior experience delivering production robotics software and/or integrated robotic systems
  • Strong C++ and Python skills with experience using ROS/ROS2, TF frames, and robotics tooling
  • Knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, control systems, and state estimation
  • Experience with SLAM/localization, motion planning, perception, and hands-on sensor integration/calibration
  • Ability to debug distributed systems across hardware and software using logs and profiling

Preferred Qualifications

  • MoveIt/MoveIt2, Nav2, Gazebo/Ignition, Isaac Sim, or other simulation frameworks
  • Real-time/embedded constraints (Linux, RT kernels, CAN/I2C/SPI)
  • Computer vision and deep learning inference deployment (TensorRT/ONNX Runtime)
  • Safety and reliability engineering (fault detection, watchdogs, redundancy)

Compensation

Competitive hourly rate: $30–$50 per hour (USD), based on experience.

How To Apply

Apply through Rex.zone with a resume highlighting ROS/ROS2 projects, on-robot testing experience, and measurable performance results. Include links to GitHub, publications, or demos where applicable.
